Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

San Diego!

While we're waiting for more pics from AZ, I might as well show you some pics from my trip to San Diego! I had an opportunity to go for a work conference and to drive there with fellow colleagues. It's too bad I couldn't take John with me. :(

First I need to show you pictures of the AMAZING Paradise Resort we stayed at! This is the view when you drive in:

They had so much wild life--birds, ducks, and lots of beautiful flowers. They also had lots of picturesque ponds as well as swimming pools every 20 feet, it seemed.
This is the look-out tower. I ran up it once and there's an amazing view at top
There were so many different types of cacti!
Across the street from the resort was a.... Beach!!
We took a trip to La Jolla to see sea lions. There were a ton of newborns! This first pic is one of my colleague's daughters who got to come with us.
A bunch of us went out to dinner in Old Town San Diego--mmm horchata!
This was my first time in San Diego and my second time in CA. Can you believe that? I need to go more often! How about John and I take a trip in August... that sounds fun! Anyone we should visit? :)

Arizona!

In the first week of March we went to Arizona to visit some best friends. We had a blast! First, we got to drive around in Scott's mom's Jeep. We stopped at some interesting places and were surrounded by beautiful Arizona mountains and cacti. The next day we went to a Renaissance festival and spent the whole day watching skits and shows and eating greasy food. :) Here are some pics and I'll add more soon!

One of the fun places we stopped was this old western movie set! It had a barn full of old relics, a church, an outhouse, a blacksmith, a stagecoach, and lots of other random um... things.

Ah, the beauty of Arizona landscape... and a handsome man to go with it. He makes all my pictures look better. :) I couldn't believe how green everything was! We picked a good time to go.
After driving around for a while, we went to a restaurant at Tortilla Flat (called Tortilla Flat Restaurant. Very original ;). The walls are COVERED in dollar bills!

It all started when business owners would leave their tip with a business card on the wall. People started just leaving their tips, and then it turned into people leaving a dollar bill with their name on it. There was other currency too--definitely something fun to look at while you're waiting for a table.
And now for the Renaissance festival! Sorry, I only have one pic now. I'll put up more soon!

John with his delicious turkey leg. And, yes, those are clip-on shades--ha! I love my man. :)
